Macroeconomics
CPB is responsible for projections of the Dutch economy for its Central Economic Plan (CEP) and Macro Economic Outlook (MEV). In the coming years, CPB will be working in this line of research on further model development and short-term research projects on macroeconomic puzzles, as well as investigating the determinants of economic development (with a focus on the role of innovation and productivity) and the interaction between heterogeneity and macroeconomics.

The economy is expected to grow by 0.7% in 2023 and 1.4% in 2024. After falling sharply, purchasing power is set to recover by 1.9% in 2024 due to wage growth. Without supplementary policy measures, the number of people in poverty is expected to rise to 5.7% of the population and 7% of children in 2024. →
